Although this position is primarily for a FEHA associate to work in the single plaintiff wrongful termination department, the firm also has separate departments for wage and hour class action and catastrophic personal injury. Should the associate wish to gain exposure in either of those areas of law they will be given those opportunities (but it is not required).

We give our associates real responsibilities, and the attorney for this position will be trained to soon manage their own cases under the supervision of one of the senior attorneys. Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Employment Law Associate to join our team. As a member of our firm, you will have the opportunity to represent victims of employment discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination as it relates to the FEHA and whistleblower protections. You will also represent victims of wage theft as it relates to unpaid overtime, meal and rest breaks, and reimbursed expenses. You will play a pivotal role in providing legal counsel, drafting legal documents, taking/defending depositions and advocating for our clients both in and out of the courtroom.
Responsibilities:
- Handle a caseload of employment law matters, primarily focusing on FEHA and whistleblower violations, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation and wrongful termination cases.
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support your cases.
- Draft legal documents, including complaints, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.
- Represent clients in administrative proceedings, negotiations, mediations, and court hearings.
-Take and defend depositions.
- Prepare cases for trial and get hands-on trial experience.
- Collaborate with the legal team to develop case strategies and provide guidance on legal matters.
- Stay up to date with relevant employment laws, regulations, and legal precedents.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active member of the California State Bar in good standing.
- 0 to 5 years of experience practicing employment law, with a focus on representing victims of FEHA violations. We are willing to train the right candidate who is newly licensed.
- Strong knowledge of California employment laws, regulations, and legal procedures. - Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to handle a caseload independently and meet deadlines.
- Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to empathize with clients and provide compassionate legal representation.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary for this position is based on experience, within the range of $100,000 to $150,000 annually, in addition to year-end bonuses. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer the following benefits:
