Yasmeen Abushahla is a litigation associate at The Sentinel Firm in the Complex Litigation and Wage-and-Hour Class Action Department. With a focus on prosecuting complex wage-and-hour class actions and Private Attorneys General Act ("PAGA") representative actions, Ms. Abushahla is committed to defending and upholding the rights of employees across various industries in both state and federal court.
Throughout her academic and legal career, Ms. Abushahla has demonstrated a zealous commitment to social justice. As part of USF's Street Law organization, she researched and created Know-Your-Rights lessons to teach at community youth organizations in San Francisco. She has previously worked with civil rights attorneys and legal aid organizations whose goal was to provide marginalized communities with legal services and tools to support and vindicate their rights.
Ms. Abushahla holds bachelor's degrees in Ethnic Studies and Sociology, with a concentration in Law and Social Justice, from the University of San Diego. She went on to earn her Juris Doctorate from the University of San Francisco School of Law, graduating cum laude. During her time in law school, Ms. Abushahla served as a junior staffer for the USF Law Review and as a clerk in USF's Racial Justice Clinic. Ms. Abushahla is licensed to practice law in the State of California.
